Robin Tabeling and Selena Piek have made a historic achievement at the Yonex Dutch Open. In a well-stocked Topsportcentrum Almere, the Dutch couple defeated Chris and Gabrielle Adcock (WRL-12) from England in the final of the mixed doubles. It became 21-17 and 21-13. It is the first time in history that the Netherlands has won this part. In the first game, the couples turned out to be very matched.
Midway through the opening game, Piek and Tabeling led 11-10. After the interval, the Dutch (WRL-16) crept further and further away from their English rivals and won the first game 21-17. In the second game, the Dutch couple quickly took a small lead and expanded it steadily. With 21-13, the win went convincingly to Tabeling and Piek.
